Higgins

My little grey face senior. I love him so much......................

Acey Ducey miniature rose and the other end of my back yard side bed

Acey Ducey is honestly one of the best performers in my garden. I have her planted in a 5 gallon squat pot and there she consistently blooms for me. Its a medium red color and blooms in clusters. No fragrance.
That's my neighbors cat boo bear. he keeps trying to sneak into the house. I think he is trying to adopt us. Unfortunately for him mark is allergic to cats, so only out door pets for him.

Underneath the second picture of Acey Ducey is another picture of the back yard bed. In this picture are two of my very favorite roses. Regensberg is the pink one and Princess of whales is the white. Love them both.

Wide shot back yard rose bed...

This is just a view of my side garden in the back yard.. It is blooming so lovely right now I had to share a picture.

The plan is every week Three large bags of mulch until It is all finished. This year i am taking more of an organic approach to gardening. So far so good. I still have every kind of fungus but that is part of the process...

Julia Child (floribunda) rose

This beautiful rose is named after the late great chef Julia Child. This rose is a medium creamy yellow with semi double ruffle like blooms. It boasts a strong clove fragrance that just makes me bury my nose in her blooms every time I pass her by.

The last couple of weeks my front yard was in full bloom. Now the bloom is tapering off and is taking off in the back yard. I was not able to post a lot of the pictures yet from the front yard because they are mostly on my phone and my data plan is used up... ooops.......

give away roses

I have the give away roses all potted up. They just need to mature a little bit.... They are bands and I feel that a lot of new gardeners may not know how to treat small bands. A band is a rose that is a quart size pot or even smaller. The first two are a rose called show stopper. Its a peach miniature with perfect form. The second is called happy memories. It is a smaller shrub that has the prettiest little pink blooms. Since my blog following is really slow for now it may be awhile before the contest.. Im thinking around 15 to 20 followers and it will be time....

Veggie garden

So here is the work i did so far.  Did you see all the weeds.  Im hoping to pull a little each day.  This year we are only planting half as much.   Last year we went crazy planting....

Secret

This is such a beautiful rose.  Secret is a hybrid tea.  She loves the sun.  This is my neighbors rose.  I used to grow secret but i cut back on the amount of hybrid teas i grow.  Secret can catch powder mildew easy but other than that she is a real gem.

Planted veggies today

Well Today I climbed my neighbors hill and planted the first of our spring veggies. I am so sore from all the weed pulling and shoveling. Because of all the rains the weeds are out of control. Can you believe someone wanted 800 dollars to weed that hill. Give me a break. I say lets just mow them down.... Of course I did have to weed the actually garden beds. My hands are dying for a manicure. Something I will love to do tonight if the bulldog lets me. I need to teach the bulldog how to give massages... Here is a picture of the veggie garden last year.

Higgins at beach

I love my old boy.  Higgins is eleven and still loving the beach. Pretty good for a bulldog.

Last friday night

It took me forever to try this color.  So many polishes so little time.  Its pretty.  Too bad it is so sheer.

Inspired by nail polish bloggers

I just can not get enough of nail polish blogs. I just love them, and as you can see I follow mostly blogs about polish. I have been inspired by their giveaways. Although I do love polish, gardening is what I really exel at. I am trying to grow a few roses to offer in a giveaway of my own as my blog following grows. Stay tuned for details....

Its amazing to think that this rose started as a little band I ordered over the internet.  It is now my most vigorous rose..  This rose is a noisette.   It is so carefree and easy to care for.

A hybrid tea has to be truely special to earn a permanant place in my yard.
